Priority Design & Service · Selma, Texas · TACLB018551E

Residential, light commercial and multi-family HVAC across San Antonio since 1999.

Family owned, licensed, and still answering our own phone. Matt Carson has run this shop since 1999, and a good part of our work still comes from people who called us the first time twenty years ago.

Heating

Thirteen points, and a carbon monoxide test at the end of every one.

Heat exchanger checked for cracks, burner compartment vacuumed, gas leaks, flue pipe, ignition, limits and manifold pressure. South Texas furnaces run little and sit long, which is exactly why the fall visit matters.

13 published checks

Cooling

Fifteen points, because a dirty coil quietly costs you capacity.

Refrigerant charge and operating pressures, superheat and sub-cooling, compressor windings, contactor points, capacitors, condensate. Small parts fail first and take the expensive ones with them, and a coil in poor condition robs the system of capacity you already paid for.

Multi-family, start to finish

Twenty five years of apartment buildings, in the order they get built.

Scrub through a job the way it actually happens. Frame, vertical build, plant set, unit, handover.

01

Framing stage

We are on a multi-family job long before the drywall goes up. Sleeves, chases and set points get resolved against the frame, because the cheapest time to move a line is while you can still see it.

02

Vertical build

Scaffold up, house wrap on, trades stacked. This is where the logistics matter more than the equipment. We staff the site with installers and supervisors who can keep pace without holding anyone else up.

03

Plant set

Units land on the roof, tagged to the apartment they serve. Downtown San Antonio sits behind this one. Getting the tagging right at set is what makes the building serviceable for the next twenty years.

04

Inside the unit

Cassette in, panels set, corridor finished. The part a resident actually sees is a grille in a ceiling. Everything behind it is the reason the building holds temperature in August.

Handed over

Occupied, warm in January, cold in July. We stay on through warranty, which is where a contractor either stands behind the work or stops answering the phone.

The trucks in this photo are ours, and so is the number on the side.

We are not a dispatch brand routing your call to whoever is nearest. Priority Design & Service has run out of the same shop on Jordan Road since we opened, under Texas license TACLB018551E, and the technician who turns up works here.

“I have personally known and worked with the owner, Mr. Matt Carson, since 2006 and in that time have found him to be extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of his business. Mr. Carson has assisted in everything from redesign to value engineering to resolving code issues, and from the bid phase through construction to warranty, Mr. Carson has always been prompt and performed exceptionally. Priority Design & Service has contracted with Crane Contracting Group, ltd. for both completed projects and projects in progress for an excess of 2600 multi-family units.”

Thirty years with the same customers is a harder thing to fake than a star rating.

“We have been working with Matt at Priority Design and Service for 30+ years and have never been disappointed. When our twenty year old air conditioning unit recently broke down, Matt carefully reviewed all of our options. His knowledge and honesty made it easy for us to make an informed decision.”

Before you call

The questions we get asked most.

We work out of Selma and cover San Antonio, Schertz, Cibolo, Garden Ridge, Marion, Universal City, Converse, Live Oak and New Braunfels. If you are just outside that list, call the office on (210) 492-4426 and ask.

Estimates are free on new equipment and sales. They are not free on service calls, where a technician is diagnosing a fault on an existing system. We say that up front so there is no surprise on the invoice.

Fifteen points on the cooling side and thirteen on the heating side, and we publish both lists in full. Refrigerant charge and operating pressures, superheat and sub-cooling, compressor windings, capacitors, coil condition and condensate on the cooling visit. Heat exchanger cracks, gas leaks, flue pipe, ignition, limits, manifold pressure and a carbon monoxide test on the heating visit.

Two visits a year, priority response status on event calls, fifteen percent off repairs, a two-year guarantee on repairs carried out while the agreement is active, and waived trip charges. There is never an overtime charge, we call you to schedule, and the agreement transfers if you sell the house.

It is a large part of what we do and has been for more than twenty five years. We have run over 2,600 units for Crane Contracting Group alone, from bid phase through construction to warranty, including redesign, value engineering and resolving code issues.

We are an authorized Armstrong Air and Goodman dealer, and we also fit Honeywell controls, NuCalgon chemicals, APCO air quality products and Mitsubishi equipment. We sell, service and repair all major brands.
